Free, fair, impartial pols held as per measures taken: PM
Awami League (AL) president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday (January 8) said all measures had been taken to hold free, fair, and impartial elections.
Bangladesh has successfully set an example by holding Sunday's general election, she said.
The premier made the remarks while exchanging views with local and foreign journalists and election observers at the Ganabhaban in the capital.
She said, “You have come and witnessed how the people vote in our country. We have set a precedent that the election can be free, fair, and neutral.”
“I am delighted as people elected my party by voting for AL in this election, she added.
Bangabandhu’s youngest daughter Sheikh Rehana, and Bangabandhu’s grandchildren Saima Wazed and Radwan Mujib Siddiq Bobby were present at the event.
