Denmark won't sell Greenland: Trump canceled tour

By Tuhin Sanzid

President Donald Trump canceled his visit at last time to Denmark, because it does not sell Greenland to the United States. President Trump was scheduled to travel to Denmark on September 2. The Queen of Denmark invited him to visit. Trump canceled his visit to the country wrathfully after the Danish Prime Minister announced that Greenland would not sell. The Royal family of Denmark also confirmed the cancellation information.

Recently, US President Trump announced that the United States was interested in buying Greenland from Denmark. Greenland is an autonomous region of Denmark.

Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen described President Trump's proposal as 'strange'. She added that, she hoped President Trump was not Serious, in fact saying so just for fun.

After such comments by the Prime Minister of Denmark, on Tuesday President Trump announced in a tweet that he no longer wants to visit Denmark. Because the Prime Minister of Denmark is not interested in talking about the proposal to buy Greenland. But just hours before President Trump's announcement, US Ambassador to Denmark Carl Sands tweeted, "Denmark is ready to welcome the US president!"

Asked if he wants to exchange Greenland with a US location, Trump said, "A lot of things can be done." He then posted a picture of large 'Trump tower' on a small town in Greenland and posted it on social media.

Greenland Premier Kim Kielsen said on Greenland sale, Greenland is not for sale. And former prime minister Lars Rasmussen joked about Trump's proposal, saying, "It's definitely a joke on April Fool's Day."

Greenland, rich in minerals such as coal, zinc, copper and iron, is financially dependent on Denmark. Most people here are drug addicts. The unemployment rate is also very high. But because of the geographical location, President Trump wants to buy Greenland.

The proposal to buy Greenland is considered by some to be a mere coincidence, but the diplomatic corps has been on the verge of canceling a trip to Denmark on the issue. Now no one thinks of it as fun or jovial. Many comments this is a new diplomatic move by President Donald Trump.
